Castello di Bossi welcomes you to the heart of Chianti Classico, where centuries-old vineyards, rolling hills, and ancient stones steeped in history create an unforgettable setting.
This historic Tuscan estate, just a few kilometers from Siena, is today home to one of the wineries of the Bacci Wines Group—a place where the art of winemaking meets the elegance of hospitality.
Set within over 600 hectares of unspoiled nature, the estate offers guests an exclusive stay among the vineyards: three beautifully restored brick farmhouses, each with generous outdoor spaces and swimming pools nestled in the greenery.
A perfect balance between rural authenticity and refined comfort—ideal for those seeking to experience the true soul of Tuscany in a peaceful and scenic environment.
The journey of discovery continues in the Castello di Bossi winery, the heart of the Bacci Wines Group, where some of the most iconic wines of Chianti Classico are born.
At our Wine Bar, visitors can taste the full range of wines from the Group, accompanied by stories of terroir, craftsmanship, and passion.
Castello di Bossi is also a place of experiences: our team organizes horseback rides through the vineyards, truffle hunts in the surrounding woods, and cooking classes focused on traditional Tuscan cuisine—authentic and engaging ways to live the countryside.
Visiting Castello di Bossi means immersing yourself in a world where time slows down, wine tells the story of the land, and hospitality is a time-honored art.
At Castello di Bossi, history meets the present—every day, in every glass, and in every guest’s experience.
In the heart of Chianti Classico, surrounded by rolling hills, centuries-old vineyards, and lush woods, Castello di Bossi preserves a millennia-old legacy—intertwining history, landscape, and a deep passion for the land.
The earliest architectural evidence of the estate dates back to 1099, when the original medieval tower was built. Thanks to its strategic location, the castle played a significant role during the famous Battle of Monteaperti, standing near the historic border between rival factions.
In 1478, it was destroyed by Florentine troops, before passing into the hands of some of Tuscany’s most prominent families—first the Ricasoli, then the Ugurgieri. The current appearance of the castle can be traced back to the Grand Ducal era, when the structure was redesigned with a square layout, giving it the form of a fortified villa.
Later, the estate became the property of Siena’s Santa Maria della Scala Hospital, and subsequently, of the noble Piccolomini family.
Visitors enter the imposing quadrangular structure through two large opposing gates, linked by an elegant loggia recently uncovered and carefully restored.
Traces of ancient vineyards dating back to Roman times reveal the area’s longstanding connection to viticulture: here, winemaking is not only tradition, but identity.
In 1984, Castello di Bossi was acquired by the family of Marco Bacci, who still owns it today. With vision and a deep respect for heritage, Marco Bacci has transformed the estate into a benchmark of Tuscan winemaking excellence—blending tradition, innovation, sustainability, and hospitality.
Today, Castello di Bossi stands as a model of virtuous stewardship, where every decision reflects a deep love for the land. The estate is fully organic and powered by renewable energy, thanks to a four-hectare solar panel installation naturally maintained by grazing flocks of local sheep.
A place where history, nature, and wine culture live in perfect harmony, capturing the authenticity and soul of Chianti Classico.
